It is being used for surface sizing, coating and calendar applications.  To achieve best results, 5.0-30.0% solids in cook and 5.0-14.0% solids on size press application is advisable & it depending upon the type of size press.

PREPARATION:

Prepare the slurry of Modified Starch Powder in cold water till free of lumps at desired solids with continuous agitation. The slurry can be cooked either by direct steam or in a jacketed vessel with continuous agitation. The complete cooking would occur only after reaching a temperature at 90-95 deg.c. The time to temperature should be 35-40 min & time at temperature should be 15-20 Min for batch cooking When using a jet cooker the starch slurry is to be cooked at 110-130 deg.c.
